| Dive Description | |
| These small reefs, collectively known as the Content Keys, are on the Gulf side of the Keys. They are very shallow, making them a snorkeling/free-diving trip. The gulf side has an entirely different eco-system than Ocean side, due to different salinity and depth levels. It is leeward of the islands (protected from the wind and surf), making seas much more manageable, generally, so the Content Keys are a nice alternative when offshore seas are too rough. Visibility is not likely to be as good here as offshore, due to the lack of the powerful, cleansing gulfstream. Some species that prefer these conditions are more populous here than elsewhere. Rounded starlet corals and stone crab are examples. |
